Snake Skin Fashion for Chinese New Year

Review NYX Round Lipstick in Paparazzi Shade

   I've been reading good reviews about NYX lipsticks and that's where I got my interest to try one. My sister played her makeup and makeover me, she applied NYX lipstick in Paris shade on my lips (you can read the story here). I like the creamy texture and the color, so, when I got the time, I visited the Digital Traincase branch in Rockwell. First, I was looking for Paris shade, but it was out of stock. I tried another color and did some swatches. The nearest shade to Paris is Paparazzi.

Product Ingredient:

Ceresin, Tridecyl Trimellitate, 2-Ethytheyl Palmitate, Isononyl Isononanoate, Hydrogenated Polyisobutens, Beeswax, Mineral Oil, Microcrystallline Wax, Dipentaerythrityl Tri-Polyhdroystearate, Polythylene, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Simmondsia Chinesis(Jojoba) Seed Oil, Copernicia Cerifera(Carnauba) Wax, Polyhydroxysteric Acid, Polybutene,Perfume, Propylparaben, Dibuty Hydroxy Toluene, Red Iron Oxide(C177491), D&Red No.7(C177019), Titanium Dioxide(C177891).

Pros (What I like):

1. It has a rich creamy texture that smoothes and moisturizes lips. For me, no need to apply lip balm before applications. 

2. Medium / Even pigmentation.

3. Very affordable, got this for only P150 pesos. 

4. Smells good. For some, they might be bothered by the smell but for me I like the floral and soapy smells, unlike other lipstick that smells waxy (even freshly manufactured). 

5. I like the packaging style.  The bottom package shows the sample color of the lipstick which I can easily preview or identified when it's in my purse. 

Cons (What I don't like)

1. Poor lasting power. It easily fades. 

2.  The color may not suit to everyone. This color is best for those who have  fair skin. I have Morena skin color, the shade was not that much flatter on me (check the image below). 

3. Need  3 or more applications.

   Even I dislike the lasting power of this lipstick, I still like to use it (actually, I'm using it now). Someone said the color or shade made my look different, maybe because I often used neutral, brown-red, peach tone color. I think this color is best to wear this summer. ^_^

   I posted this late, this post was on my dashboard since December, 2012, I forgot to publish this. There're still many entries on my dashboard that are not yet publish hope I have time to review and finish it soon. 

   Last year, I was using a Belle de Jour planner, this year I decided to use the one that I can comfortably carry anywhere. I found Belle de Jour too bulky (I end using it as a diary instead of a planner).  But there's also a good side of having a Belle de Jour planner it helps you to be motivated and keep the positive side. Every time I feel confused I just re-read the positive notes written inside the Belle de Jour.  Thank you Belle de Jour :)

My 5 Best Dressed List of the Golden Globe Awards 2013

 I made my 5 best dressed list of the Golden Globe Awards 2013. I watched it last night on Starworld channel  and my eyes were rolling on the actress and actor who wore best nightgown and formal suits.

Anne Hathaway in white Channel long down.I like her hair (pixie cut), she really stunned on the red carpet. She looked simple, and clean because she wore white and wore simple jewelries like bracelets and earrings. She won the Best Supporting Actress award. 

Oh Kate, why you are so pretty!? Kate Hudson wore  black long gown by Alexander McQueen.  Nice design, I like the part of the embroidered neckline and the belt add accent to the overall look. 

Amy Adam in pink Marchesa gown. I like this sheer and elegant gown. It reminds me of the same gown design by a local fashion designer.  

Julianne Hough rock and roll looked. Mix of Glam and punk. She wore a white gown with gold accents by Monique Lhuillier. 

Zooey Deschanel in red Oscar de la Renta gown. I like the combination of the red gown and accessorized with pearls.

Dinner at The Cafe Mediterranean, Rockwell Power Plant Mall

   Last Saturday, we went out for dinner and we ate at The Cafe Mediterranean in Rockwell.  The Cafe Mediterranean offers a unique blend of dishes from the Eastern, Western and Southern Mediterran like kebabs, Meditteranean pizzas, Gyros, pasta and more.

Grilled chicken kebab with rice. 

   I ate Grilled chicken kebab, it was a good meal. I love the taste and the balance of fresh vegetable and tasty grilled chicken. I like to mix the side dish vegetable in their white sauce. The grilled chicken was well cooked.

Kofta Burger (my sister's meal)

Overall experienced:

Place - I like the style of this resto. It has a cozy ambience,  wood interior and paintings add more of a Mediterranean setting of the place.

Taste - Just like what I said above, I like the food. I like the combination of fresh vegetable and the hearty meat. I also like their sauces. 

Price - Their price range starts from 200 and up, a bit expensive but the taste of food is great, it is still value for money.   

Service - I like their service, the staff were very attentive. 

 I'Il definitely go back again, to try other dishes.

2013 Color of the Year

   Emerald is the 2013 color of the year according to Pantone. Pantone is the world renowned authority on color and provider of color systems and leading technology for the selection and accurate communication of color across a variety of industries.  The Pantone name is known world wide as the standard language for color communication from designer to manufacturer to retailer to customer.    For Fashion, expect to see people wearing the color of the year.  Emerald color is easy to mix and match with black, but if you like to experiment, you can match this with another color. Emerald color symbolizes lively, radiant, balance and harmony.

    For Beauty,  emerald color palettes can add drama to the eyes. It enhances green eyes and it's also compatible with blue eyes. It also complements with another color like peaches, pinks, roses and ruby red.
