3rd Week of October

Hi Readers!

Hows your day? Mine was fine though I'm a little busy but I still try to connect with you guys :) I'll just share some of the activities I did last week (that's where I got the title of this post).

Venice turns 2

October 20 my little niece Venice turns 2, our family had a simple celebration at Veron and Mike Unit (somewhere in Makati). Mike's side or families also celebrated it last Sunday October 23. Before her birthday my niece experience mild measles or what we call in the local as "tigdas hangin". Though she's sick she still loves to play and sing along with the DVD fun and play song for kids, she loves to sing "Bahay Kubo".  We also celebrated Venice birthday in advanced in Chef d' Angelo (I already blog about that check it here).

Venice playing Pink Princess twist bike (Mikes gift)
Black forest cake from Red Ribbon, Ambers Pancit Malabon and Pichi-pichi,
grilled Pork and grilled Tilapia.
Venice loves to watch this video from You Tube. A little american girl who sings bahay kubo.
She love to watch this over and over again :)
When Venice sing it some of her words were like slang too

LSS: Someone Like You

Hi Readers!

My Last Song Syndrome (LSS) is Someone like you originally sang by Adele

My favorite line:
Never mind, I'll find someone like you,
I wish nothing but the best for you too.
Don't forget me, I beg.
I remember you said,
"Sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead"..

I heard that you settled down
That you found a girl and you're married now.
I heard that your dreams came true.
Guess she gave you things I didn't give to you.

Old friend, why are you so shy?
Ain't like you to hold back or hide from the light.

I hate to turn up out of the blue uninvited
But I couldn't stay away, I couldn't fight it.
I had hoped you'd see my face and that you'd be reminded
That for me it isn't over.

Never mind, I'll find someone like you
I wish nothing but the best for you too
Don't forget me, I beg
I remember you said,
"Sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead,
"Sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead,"
Yeah.

You know how the time flies
Only yesterday was the time of our lives
We were born and raised
In a summer haze
Bound by the surprise of our glory days

I hate to turn up out of the blue uninvited
But I couldn't stay away, I couldn't fight it.
I had hoped you'd see my face and that you'd be reminded
That for me it isn't over.

Never mind, I'll find someone like you
I wish nothing but the best for you too
Don't forget me, I beg
I remember you said,
"Sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead."

Nothing compares
No worries or cares
Regrets and mistakes
They are memories made.
Who would have known how bittersweet this would taste?

Never mind, I'll find someone like you
I wish nothing but the best for you
Don't forget me, I beg
I remember you said,
"Sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead."

Never mind, I'll find someone like you
I wish nothing but the best for you too
Don't forget me, I beg
I remember you said,
"Sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead,
Sometimes it lasts in love but sometimes it hurts instead."

Sunday Family Day 10.09.11

Hi Readers!

Mama's birthday was last Saturday October 08 but we celebrated it yesterday (Sunday). Mike and Veron treat us out for lunch at Bacolod Chicken Inasal in Glorietta. Afterward we went to Greenbelt and strolled around. When we were in Greenbelt 1, I reminisced the day when I walked around that area almost everyday. I worked before in a pharmaceutical company as an HR and Training assistant (Greenbelt was just walking distance from our office - which in the corner of Salcedo and Gamboa St.). I remember my friend Jane and I went there for lunch or we drop by there just to stroll around or buy something in National Bookstore (Oh I missed Jane, Ms. Anne, Sir Argie, Ms. Vicky and my other friends in that pharmaceutical company - those were the day). Going back to Greenbelt, now I felt strange with that place. I'm not familiar anymore, I haven't been there after the new Greenbelt has constructed (tagal na no?!) If we go to Ayala we only go to Landmark, SM Makati and Glorietta. Below are photo's to share to you guys :)
Before going to Glorietta I saw new Hotel name hangri-La he!he!he!
just kidding it is Shangri-La Hotel, Makati  ( lost the letter S).
I took this photo while riding in a cab.

Steve Jobs the Tech Visionary (1955-2011)

Hi Readers!

This early morning after waking up I turn on the T.V. and switch to CNN channel I was totally shock about the breaking news that Steve Jobs CEO and Co-founder of Apple past away. I already heard the news that he have cancer but I am not expecting that he'll gone this soon. As I remember it was September when he announced his resignation as CEO of Apple.

Photo from source

Steven Paul "Steve"Jobs(1955-2011)

When ever you heard the name Steve Jobs of course the first thing you think of is Apple and Mac.

Born in San Francisco on February 24, 1955 Jobs grew up in Cupertino, California. He was a multimillionaire by 25, appeared on the cover of Time magazine at 26, and was ousted at Apple at age 30, in 1984.
Jobs had more success when he bought Pixar Animation Studios from George Lucas before the company made it big with "Toy Story." Jobs brought the same marketing skill to Pixar that he became known for at Apple. His brief but emotional pitch for "Finding Nemo," for example, was a masterful bit of succinct storytelling.

In 1996, Apple bought NeXT, returning Jobs to the then-struggling company he had co-founded. Within a year, he was running Apple again -- older and perhaps wiser but no less of a perfectionist. And in 2001, he took the stage to introduce the original iPod, the little white device that transformed portable music and kick-started Apple's furious comeback.
Thus began one of the most remarkable second acts in the history of business. Over the next decade, Jobs wowed launch-event audiences, and consumers, with one game-changing hit after another: iTunes (2003), the iPhone (2007), the App Store (2008), and the iPad (2010).

Steve famous words:

"Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do"

Yoga for Life: Open Photoshoot!

Hi Readers!
How do You Live a Positive Life?
If you think happiness is all about just having the best things in life come to you, then you’re  probably the type who gets stressed out whenever something doesn’t go according to plan.
You know what this means—stuff like, missing the train or the bus during rush hour, spilling coffee on your new shirt, getting a flat tire during a long road trip.
Or maybe, something as serious as finding out your best friend is HIV-positive. Or maybe, even you.
Whatever problems you have for the moment, cheer up—Yoga For Life, the first ever community-based yoga class series designed for people affected by HIV in different ways, wants you to take on a personal mission to live a happy, well-rounded life. The yogis and yoginis from Yoga For Life encourage you to begin your own advocacy to live with a positive outlook, and sharing that positivism to the world—which you can start by helping others use love and happiness against HIV.
“We at Yoga For Life wish to challenge everyone to imbibe the spirit of living positively and living well in our newest awareness campaign,” says Charmaine Cu-Unjieng, Yoga For Life co-founder.

Through Yoga For Life’s “Living Positively + Living Well” movement, individuals from all walks of life are called to add their voice to the growing number of advocates rallying for positivism and uniting against HIV.

To do this, the group will be conducting a two-part open photoshoot on October 22 and 29 at the Pioneer Studios, Mandaluyong City to capture each individual’s story and advocacy. The photos and stories shared in this event will be featured in a photo exhibition, to coincide with the Pride March in December.

Participants in the open photoshoot will get their professionally-shot portraits by photographer Noel Abelardo, and a special Yoga for Life “Living Positively + Living Well” shirt. During the event, specially-trained peer counselors from The Love Yourself Project (TLYP) will offer free counseling as well.

Proceeds to the event will be used for further skills training of YFL members, as the group expands its program to reach more people affected by HIV.

“With this movement, we want to inspire people everywhere to live and spread a positive, healthy outlook in life—whatever circumstances they are in,” ends Yoga for Life co-founder Paulo Leonido.

To participate in Yoga For Life’s “Living Positively + Living Well” movement, or for any inquiries regarding the event, contact Charmaine Cu-Unjieng at 0917.5404247, or Paulo Leonido at 0917.3889658. A B N K K B S N P L Ako?! by Bob Ong

Hi Readers!

For my international readers please use  Translate this Blog - you can find it above the sidebar.

  • Parang "Time's up! ang reunion, "pass your papers, finished or not!"

NOTD: My first crack nail polish

Hi readers!

Last Sunday my family went to Landmark, Makati again. In the cosmetic section I saw OMG (Oh My Golly) Cracked nail polish by Klik in Cracked Gray shade. I have read lots of beauty blog who posted about crack nail polish and that got my interest to share this with you also. I'll discuss how to apply this cracked nail polish and also add some reviews.

How to apply cracked nail polish :

1. Apply base coat - your choice of color or shade.
For my nail I applied Regular Love (light pink color)
I advice you choose darker shade so that it will be more visible.
2. Apply cracked nail polish. If you use this you'll notice the polish dry fast, it looks like a matte polish.
Apply, wait for a few minutes and it will dry and you'll notice it crack up.
3. Apply colorless nail polish.
Best to apply colorless nail polish, it helps to protect the cracked nail polish.
Finish Product
Review: Oh my golly cracked nail polish by Klik

Pro's (What I like)
  • Affordable - this cost only P34.75, unlike other brand of crack polish they cost around P300 plus or more. I think this product is alternative to other branded crack nail polish. Available in Landmark, Makati.
  • Easy to apply. It's dry fast.
Con's (What I don't like)
  • I don't like the heavy smells of chemical (mom first to hate it)
  • It easily fades (especially if you don't put colorless nail polish)
  • Crack design is a bit small unlike the other brand crack design is much more noticeable. (I don't know maybe it just me I might overly applied it).
How about you what brand of crack nail polish you've used so far?
